3. We agree the window. Most offices pick a Friday evening or a Saturday so the new building is ready to work in on Monday morning.
4. You label, we lift. If each desk’s contents are crated and labelled with the person or the room, we can put everything back where it belongs rather than stacking it in a corridor.
5. We move and set down. Furniture wrapped, screens and IT secured, everything strapped in the van, and delivered into the right rooms at the other end.

Before you move: a short checklist

• Back up everything, and handle your own data security before anything leaves the building. We move the hardware, but the data is yours to protect.
• Give your broadband and phone provider plenty of notice. Connectivity at the new site is the single most common thing that delays an office move, and it is not something a removals firm can fix on the day.
• Book the lift and the loading bay at both ends if the buildings are managed.
• Label by destination room or person, not by contents.
• Photograph the back of anything with cables in it before you unplug it.
• Decide what is not coming. It is cheaper to clear it than to move it.
